AmeriCorps Builds Lives through Education (ABLE) mobilizes men and women in national service to revive and strengthen educational environments, expanding opportunities for today’s youth and transforming America’s future – one student, one classroom, and one community at a time.

WNY AmeriCorps' ABLE program serves educational providers across Western New York, through one-on-one and small group tutoring, after-school programming, and volunteer recruitment

To Qualify for the ABLE Program, you will need:

  • At Least Two Years of College Experience
  • A Passion for Serving Youth
  • Ability to Provide Quality Education Skills to Students
  • Tutoring/Mentoring Experience is a Plus
  • Ability to Make a Commitment of Up to One Year (1700 hours for full-time, 900 hours for part-time)
     

Benefits Include:

  • Bi-Weekly Living Stipend ($11,400/full-time yearly stipend, $5,700/part-time yearly stipend)
  • Health Insurance and Child Care are Available to Full-Time Members
  • Eligability to Have Qualified Loans Placed in Forbearance During Your Term of Service and Accrued Interest Paid
  • Education Award of $4,725/full-time, $2,362/part-time Upon Completion of Service
